Bilbili i muzikës shqipe ka vd. ekur në moshën 86-vjeçare.
Ajo njihet si ndër këngëtaret shqiptare me zërin më të veçantë dhe më të fuqishëm që kemi pasur deri sot.
Inspirim për shumë gjenerata pas saj, Nexhmije Pagarusha është lindur më 7 maj të vitit 1933 në fshatin Pagarushë afër Malishevës.
Shpesh e quajtur si “Mbretëresha e Muzikës Shqiptare”, artistja është bërë e njohur si këngëtare në Shqipëri dhe vendet fqinje për vokalin e saj të veçantë prej sopranoje, përcjell Gazeta Express.
Pagarusha ka përfunduar tre vjet të shkollës së muzikës në Beograd, për këndim solo dhe ka filluar karrierën e saj si këngëtare në vitin 1948 në Radio Prishtina.
Karriera e saj muzikore zgjati për 40 vjet, falë kontrastit në zhanret e muzikës që ka performuar, duke kënduar muzikë folklorike në mënyrë perfekte, e njësoj edhe atë klasike, sidomos opera.
Nexhmije Pagarusha nga admiruesit dhe kritikët e muzikës quhet edhe ‘Bilbili i Kosovës’, ‘Mbretëreshë e Muzikës Shqipe’ e ‘Zonja Flutur’.
Derisa në Kosovë e mori titullin “Këngëtarja e Shekullit”, ajo kishte popullaritet dhe në vendet e ndryshme evropiane, ku mbante edhe koncerte sidomos me ansamblin e njohur “Shota”, në vendet si Maqedoni, Bosnjë, Bullgari e madje edhe në Izrael.
Kënga e saj më e njohur është “Baresha”, e kompozuar nga bashkëshorti i saj, Rexho Mulliqi, me tekst të Rifat Kukajt. Me këtë këngë ajo performoi në shumë festivale dhe fitoi shumë çmime.
Këngëtarja e përfundoi karrierën e saj muzikore në vitin 1984, me një koncert të madh në Sarajevë.
